6LACK dropped East Atlanta Love Letter, his second studio album and follow up to the 2016 album Free 6LACK. The album features hip hop stars like J. Cole, Future, Offset, Khalid and more, with hit singles “Switch” and “Nonchalant.”
In the newest album, 6LACK explains that East Atlanta Love Letter shows his transition to the next phase of his life.
“Free 6LACK was about everything I’d been through up to that point; the follow-up is an update on what’s going on in my life right now,” he said in an interview with Highsnobiety. “In two years, things have gone from one side of the spectrum to another. Anything I’ve had to go through, or learn, has been crammed into them: from being a dad, to [ending and starting] new relationships, to becoming famous and figuring out my responsibilities.”
