Zina Bash became an instant sensation during the Brett Kavanaugh Supreme Court confirmation hearing when it began on Tuesday, Sept. 4. Bash, a 35-year-old Republican from McAllen, Texas, is part of the Domestic Policy Council at the White House. Bash is also a lawyer who is part of the Kavanaugh confirmation team.

She is listed as a “law clerk this month for Judge Brett M. Kavanaugh.” Along with her job on Kavanaugh’s confirmation team, Bash has a job in the White House as “Special Assistant to the President for regulatory reform, legal and immigration policy.”

She attended Harvard and then The Wharton School at the University of Penn where she was a member of the Wharton Latin American Student Association. Bash is bilingual, saying that she uses her ability to speak Spanish to sing her young daughter Maria Izabella, who goes by Mabel, to sleep.
