Washington D.C. police have confirmed they responded to an active shooter situation at MedStar Washington Hospital Center.
While D.C. police have confirmed that they responded to the scene at 10 Irving St, ABC said that a hospital spokesperson said that there was no active shooter threat.
Multiple sources have since confirmed to FOX 5 that police were called after a patient, who was upset with his doctor, made threats.
According to reports from local witnesses, the hospital was being evacuated. Furthermore, a shelter in place was also ordered at the nearby Children’s National Medical Center as a precaution.
The MedStar Washington Hospital Center is located at 10 Irving St NW, Washington, D.C., east of the Columbia Heights neighborhood.  At this time, that is all the information available.
