Who doesn’t love the 4th of July? The holiday celebrates the country and takes place in the dead of summer, leading to a tradition of pool parties and cookouts. Of course, no Independence Day party is complete without a spectacular firework show to end the night. The Macy’s Firework Show has been one of the largest and most spectacular Fourth of July celebrations for a long time. This year’s show, the 42nd annual display, is certainly looking to continue that tradition. The fireworks that light up the new york skyline will also be accompanied by performances from recording artists Kelly Clarkson and Blake Shelton this year. The show is also known to push the envelope of firework displays, promising 20 new firework effects this year alone. The event begins at 8 p.m. ET and will be nationally televised on NBC.

Is there a better place to watch fireworks celebrating the creation of the nation than in the capital? The celebration begins early in the day with a parade before the concert and firework display at night. This year’s show will feature stars such as Jimmy Buffett, the Beach Boys, the Temptations, and Luke Combs. The show starts at 8 p.m. ET with the fireworks beginning around 9:15 p.m. depending on if it is dark enough.
