Who doesn’t love the 4th of July? The holiday celebrates the country and takes place in the dead of summer, leading to a tradition of pool parties and cookouts. Of course, no Independence Day party is complete without a spectacular firework show to end the night. The list below highlights some of the best July 4th celebrations across and the country and the amazing fireworks displays that accompany them.
Macy’s Fourth of July Firework Show – New York, NY
The Macy’s Firework Show has been one of the largest and most spectacular Fourth of July celebrations for a long time. This year’s show, the 42nd annual display, is certainly looking to continue that tradition. The fireworks that light up the new york skyline will also be accompanied by performances from recording artists Kelly Clarkson and Blake Shelton this year. The show is also known to push the envelope of firework displays, promising 20 new firework effects this year alone. The event begins at 8 p.m. ET and will be nationally televised on NBC.
National Mall Fourth of July – Washington D.C.
Is there a better place to watch fireworks celebrating the creation of the nation than in the capital? The celebration begins early in the day with a parade before the concert and firework display at night. This year’s show will feature stars such as Jimmy Buffett, the Beach Boys, the Temptations, and Luke Combs. The show starts at 8 p.m. ET with the fireworks beginning around 9:15 p.m. depending on if it is dark enough.
Wawa Welcome America – Philadelphia, PA
The City of Brotherly Love goes in all in on celebrating the 4th of July with a week of festivities leading up to a concert and firework show on the night of Independence Day. Some activities featured are a parade, multiple speciality museum exhibits and a food truck festival. The celebration this year ends with a concert from the Philly POP Big Band and Pitbull and a spectacular firework show at dark.
Seafair Summer – Seattle, WA
Seattle puts on a great 4th of July spectacular, highlighting an array of bands leading up to a firework display over the water at dark. The show features nearly 8,500 pounds worth of fireworks and a water show on Lake Union. The concert leading up to the fireworks highlight local Seattle bands, such as Freddy Pink and Tekia Waterfield.
Fourth of July Celebration at the PIER – San Francisco, CA
There may be no better place to watch a firework display than over the Golden Gate Bridge. The celebration at the PIER is one of the most spectacular and breathtaking firework shows in the nation, as the lights highlight the water of the bay and the city. At 5 p.m. Tainted Love will perform an 80’s tribute show with fireworks beginning at 9:30 p.m. PST.

The Boston Pops Orchestra is an orchestra that specializes in modern and throwback popular music rather than classical. The Orchestra will play a concert beginning at 8:00 p.m. ET on both July 3rd and July 4th with the second show ending with a firework display at 10:30 ET. H-E-B Austin Symphony Concert and Fireworks – Austin, TX
The Austin Symphony is an Independence Day tradition due to what has become the largest firework show in the state of Texas. The orchestra plays patriotic classical music as the firework display lights up the city skyline off of Vic Mathias Shores.
