Megan Lemay, a 20-year-old from Pelham, New Hampshire, was arrested and charged after police New found drugs and an iPhone still open to a FaceTime call inside of her crashed Jeep.
According to authorities, Lemay was driving a 2013 Jeep Wrangler when it crashed through a rock wall on Simpson Road around 2 a.m. on Sunday, June 24. Police say that the prescription drugs and the open iPhone were discovered while police search the vehicle.
Police said that Lemay seemed impaired at the scene so she was arrested. She was charged with aggravated DUI, possession of prescription drugs, and prohibited use of mobile electronic devices while driving.
An underage woman was arrested after police say she was drunk and using FaceTime when she crashed into a rock wall on Simpson Road.
Pelham police and fire responded to a reported crash just after 2 a.m. Sunday morning at 33 Simpson Road. When they arrived they found a 2013 Jeep Wrangler on its side with one occupant, the driver.
Police say, 20-year-old Megan Lemay of Pelham was driving east on toward 111A when she failed to negotiate a curve. She crashed through a rock wall and rolled the Jeep, police said. She was not injured and refused medical treatment.
Police saw prescription drugs and a phone inside the car. The phone was still open to a FaceTime call. Lemay also showed signs of impairment and was arrested for driving under the influence (DUI). She was charged with aggravated DUI, possession of prescription drugs and prohibited use of a mobile device while driving.
The Pelham Police Department released a statement about Lemay’s arrest:
“The Pelham Police Department is thankful no one was hurt in this crash. We urge people not yet 21 years old not to drink alcohol and those who are over 21 years old to drink responsibly. Please plan ahead for a safe and sober ride home.”
Lemay was released on $2,000 bail with an arraignment scheduled for July 9.
