Dedrick D. Williams has been arrested in connection to the shooting death of rapper XXXtentacion, whose name is Jahseh Onfroy. XXXtentacion was just 20 years old at the time of his murder. The 22-year-old Williams was taken into custody and booked for first-degree murder. Williams had previous arrests for grand theft auto, cocaine possession, weapons possession, domestic violence and aggravated assault with a firearm, according to TMZ.
His full list of charges include murder without premeditation, violation of probation and driving without a valid license.
Police had surveillance video to help during the investigation.
There is no word on whether they are currently in search of a second suspect at this time.
At the time of the shooting, police stated they were “currently working an incident regarding a shooting at 3671 N. Dixie Hwy., Deerfield Beach. PIO headed to scene. Dispatchers received a call of a shooting at 3:57 p.m. An adult male victim was transported to an area hospital.” A Louis Vuitton bag was reportedly taken from the rappers car.
Reports claimed “it’s possible that X was followed by as many as three vehicles after he withdrew money from a bank,” according to XXL magazine.

Circumstances surrounding his arrest were not immediately available but Williams was taken into custody shortly before 7 p.m. in Pompano Beach, sheriff’s office spokeswoman Veda Coleman-Wright said on Thursday morning.
Rapper XXXtentacion was shot and killed at age 20 in Miami, Florida on Monday, June 18. The controversial rapper had a long list of disturbing domestic violence incidents and legal issues. XXXtentacion was leaving a motorsports shop at the time he was shot and killed in what is being described as a robbery.

XXXtentacion released his debut album, 17, on August 25, 2017, and his second album, ?, was released on March 16, 2018. The second album debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200, with multiple singles entering the top 30.
