Iris Rowe, an Atlanta police officer, was arrested after police discovered seven pounds of marijuana, prescription pills, guns, ammunition, and $8,000 inside a raid of her apartment on Monday, June 11.

According to police, in addition to the drugs and ammo found in the apartment, additional drugs and guns, including an AR-15, were found in Rowe’s car. Furthermore, Rowe was carrying the gun that had been issued to her by the department at the time of the arrest. Her police uniform, badge, vest, and ID were also found inside the apartment.

Rowe resigned from the Atlanta Police Department on Wednesday, June 13. She faces charges of Rowe faces three drug charges, including possession with intent to distribute marijuana, possession of a controlled substance and possession of illegal drugs in a drug-free zone.

On Monday afternoon around 2:30 p.m., the College Park Special Operations team raided a unit in the Alexandria Landing apartment complex on Godby Road.

Investigators were looking for suspects Jeremy Laye and Tony Robinson. When they kicked down the door, they found Laye and Robinson and also found Officer Iris Rowe.

“Investigating officers were able to find a large amount of marijuana and an assortment of pills inside of the apartment,” authorities said.

Rowe resigned from her position at the Atlanta Police Department with a written note, calling her acts “shameful”. She had been with the Atlanta Police Department since 2016 and was a mobile patrol officer in the city’s  “Zone 3” for nearly a year.

Police also arrested two other suspects on Monday, June 11: Jeremy Laye and Tony Robinson. Both men face multiple drug charges, while Laye has also been charged with obstruction of an officer and possession of a firearm by a first offender probationer.
