Cameron & Tristan Herrin: Full Story of Tampa Bay Vehicular Homicide

Cameron Herrin, 18, and Tristan Herrin, 20, are two of the three men responsible for the death of 24-year-old mother Jessica Reisinger, who was struck and killed by the Herrin’s black Ford Mustang as they were street racing in Tampa Bay, Florida. The driver of a second car, 17-year-old John Barrineau, was also arrested. Reisinger was pronounced dead at the hospital, while her 21-year-old daughter, who was also hit, remains in critical condition.
Cameron Herrin and Barrineau face charges of street racing, vehicular homicide and reckless driving resulting in serious bodily injury, while Tristan Herrin, a passenger in the Mustang, was charged with one count of racing.
According to Tampa Bay authorities, Cameron Herrin, 18, was driving a  2018 black Ford Mustang with 20-year-old Tristan Herrin in the passenger seat. The two were reportedly engaging in a street race with 17-year-old John Alexander Barrineau, who was driving a Nissan. Witnesses at the scene claimed that the two cars were racing side-by-side, frequently switching places and changing lanes before striking Resinger and her daughter at the intersection of Bayshore Boulevard and W. Knights Avenue.

Investigators say Reisinger was “attempting a lawful crossing” while pushing a stroller carrying her daughter, Lillia Raubenolt. That’s when a 2018 Ford Mustang, driven by 18-year-old Cameron Herrin, hit them, police say, and Reisinger died of her injuries.
Tampa police arrested Cameron and 20-year-old Tristan Christopher Herrin, who was his passenger. They also arrested 17-year-old John Alexander Barrineau, who, they say, was racing Cameron in a gold Nissan. Both Herrins are said to live at the same South Tampa address, and Barrineau, lives on West Knights Avenue, which is just blocks from the crash.
Police have charged both drivers with street racing, vehicular homicide, and reckless driving resulting in serious bodily injury. Tristan was charged with racing and was released on bond Thursday morning. FOX 13’s cameras were rolling as he left Hillsborough County Jail, but he hid most of his face with a hoodie over his head. He was escorted by an unknown man to a car, which quickly left the jail parking lot.

Reisinger and her daughter, who live in Jeromesville, Ohio, were crossing Bayshore Boulevard in Tampa, Florida when a 2018 black Ford Mustang struck them. Reisinger was pronounced dead at the hospital, while her daughter, Lillia Raubenolt, remains in critical condition.  According to an arrest affidavit, 21-month-old Lillia is not expected to survive.
A GoFundMe has been set up for Resinger’s daughter and her family.
