Evan Rachel Wood is an American actress, model, and musician who began her acting in the 1990s, appearing in television series such as American Gothic and Once and Again.
Wood has had an extensive film career, appearing in Pretty Persuasion (2005), Down in the Valley (2005), Running with Scissors (2006), Across the Universe (2007), The Wrestler (2008), Whatever Works (2009) and The Ides of March (2011).
Wood has had the most success on television, playing the supporting role of Queen Sophie-Anne on True Blood from 2009 to 2011 and playing Kate Winslet’s character’s daughter in the HBO miniseries Mildred Pierce in 2011. For her work on Mildred Pierce, Wood was nominated for the Golden Globe and Emmy Award for Best Supporting Actress. Beginning in 2016, Wood began playing the sentient android Dolores Abernathy in the HBO series Westworld.
For her work as Dolores on Westworld, Wood won a Critics’ Choice Award and earned a Golden Globe and Emmy Award nomination.
Wood has received quite a bit of attention for her personal life, particularly her relationship with Marilyn Manson, to whom she was previously engaged. In 2012, she married English actor Jamie Bell, with whom she has one son. They separated in 2014 after two years of marriage.
