TerriLynn St. John, 23, a Virginia mother of two small children, aged 3 and 1, vanished from her front yard and is now reported as a missing person. The Middlesex County Sheriff’s Department confirmed she vanished around 7:30 AM on February 27, 2018. Since going missing, TerriLynn’s family has said that they do not believe that she would have left her children alone.
What happened?
According to WTKR-TV, it is believed there is speculation that the incident involved a potential struggle. As the television station reported, St. John “went to her car in her front yard, preparing to take her children to daycare.”
According to The Southside Sentinel newspaper, TerriLynn’s father, Terry St. John, said that his daughter would “never, never, never” have left her children alone, adding, “I’d love to go out and look for her, but where do you start.” TerriLynn’s boyfriend, identified as Mac Kennard, told the publication that he “had kissed her goodbye at 4:20 a.m. and headed to work oystering;” he added that TerriLynn was his “best friend” and that he “could not hold back tears.”
After she was reported missing, her door was found opened and her children were said to be inside their home. A broken necklace belonging to TerriLynn was found in her yard, as well as earrings, shoes and phone belonging to her, helping police to believe that there had been a struggle.
According to WKTR-TV, there are “persons of interest” involved in the case but they have not been named as of this time.
What happens now?
Police have enacted a massive search to look for TerriLynn. According to WKTR-TV, TerriLynn’s father gave the following description of the search:
“They looked through the woods and you could definitely tell there has been a struggle beside my daughter’s car. Jewelry was all around, like it had been broken off, her cell phone was found in the bushes.”

According to descriptions, Terrilynn is 23-years-old, 5 foot 6 inches tall, 130 pounds, and has blonde hair and blue eyes. She was also described as having “multiple tattoos including R.J.M. on her right wrist, a princess crown on her left wrist, and a cross on her ring finger.” She was also wearing a blue Outer Banks hoodie at the time she went missing, which she can also be seen wearing in Kennard’s Facebook cover photo.
