Avondale Elementary School in Ohio is currently on lockdown due to police activity, with the Columbus police department saying that there were shots fired in the area. According to reports, the exact details of the situation were not immediately made available upon initial reports of the school lockdown.
What happened?
According to Columbus police, two shooting victims are being treated at a local hospital, Mount Carmel West. Police are believed to be investigating the incident at the hospital.
According to 10 TV, police have said they do not know where the shooting happened; at this time, it is believed that the elementary school was placed on lockdown since it was near the hospital.
What do we know about the shooting?
In the Columbus, Ohio, area, it had been reported on social media that employees within a local convenience store claimed they heard a few gunshots near the corner and saw a pickup trick speed away from the scene.
In addition, three bullets were found lodged within a local catering building. Several bullet casings and broken automobile glass were also found near a local gas station.
In addition, police do not believe at this time that the school was hit by gunfire.

Employees at the convenience store say they heard a few gunshots near the corner, then saw a pickup truck speed away from the scene going down West Broad Street.
