Leicester City vs. Chelsea for so many years was looked at as just another day, but after last year that is no longer. Last year Leicester City shocked the world when they came out of nowhere to win the Premier League. This year Leicester isn’t off to the same fast start but has still held there own with some of the top clubs in all of the Premier League. Chelsea is off to another fast start after a £185 million shopping spree this summer to revamp their roster.
Leicester City has been without star striker Jamie Vardy but he should be returning to the pitch to take on bitter rival Chelsea. Leicester is 1-2-2 in their last 5 games but are looking to turn that all around. They’re going to need all hands on deck if they want to beat Chelsea. When a team overachieves it usually is very difficult to repeat success and Leicester are learning the hard way that success doesn’t come as easy. They currently sit in 8th place with 30 points, that is 32 points off Man City for 1st and they’re 16 points behind Chelsea. Hopefully, Vardy can give them the spark they need.
Chelsea has one thing on its mind and that is a Premier League Title. They have a lot of work to do if they’re going to catch up to Man City and it starts with Leicester. Chelsea spent a ton of money this offseason to bring in huge names like David Luiz. Chelsea is led by Álvaro Morata who has 10 goals on the season but they’re hoping that changes with Eden Hazard returning from injury. The real rock of Chelsea is their goaltender Thibaut Courtois, he has only allowed 16 goals on 210 shots and has a Goals Against Average of 0.73 goals per game. Chelsea is looking to blow the doors off Leicester and continue their ascent.
