Dakota County Technical College in Rosemount, Minnesota, was placed on lockdown Wednesday afternoon.
Update (3:52 PM EST): All clear given at DCTC.

The college posted about the lockdown on their Facebook page around 3:40 PM EST. At this time, it is not clear at this time what caused the lockdown initially, however, the local authorities confirmed that there was an ongoing lockdown situation.
People on the university’s campus were asked to remain in place, lock doors and shut off any lights.

We are aware there are conflicting messages being communicated at this time. Until we can clear up communications, please treat this as a lockdown and remain were you are. If you are home, do not come to school. If you are in school, you should be in a locked room with lights off.

DCTC belongs to the Minnesota State Colleges and Universities System and is one of five stand-alone technical colleges in the state.
The DCTC main campus is located on the outskirts of Rosemount, Minnesota a city of 14,660 about 14 miles south of St. Paul, the capital of Minnesota. The Rosemount campus houses the majority of the college’s instructional programs, which are separated into seven academic departments
