After an electric comeback in Game 4, winning by a score of 6-4, the Yankees have now tied up the ALCS with the Astros at two games apiece heading into tonight’s Game 5 in the Bronx.
Trailing 3-0 after six innings, the Yankees bats came alive in the 7th and 8th innings, scoring two runs in the 7th and another four runs in the 8th, ultimately winning 6-4. Yankee Stadium will be rocking tonight as the Bronx Bombers look to take a 3-2 lead as the series heads back to Houston.
The Astros, who are looking to regain momentum before heading back home, will be pitching Cy Young candidate Dallas Keuchel. Keuchel pitched seven shutout frames and struck out 10 batters on Friday in a Game 1 win in Houston. Keuchel was the winning pitcher in the 2015 AL Wild Card Game at Yankee Stadium, with six shutout innings pitched.
The Yankees, who are looking to take a lead in the series for the first time, are sending Masahiro Tanaka to the hill. Outside of a tough-luck fourth inning, Tanaka was excellent in a six-inning ALCS Game 1 effort against the Astros. The right-hander has allowed just two earned runs in his last three starts while striking out 25 in 20 innings.
