According to reports, one person has been killed and several other have injured in a knife attack in Turku, Finland. there is no official confirmation of casualties at this time.
The unidentified knifeman, who was allegedly screaming Allahu Akbar, has reportedly killed one person and left at least 6 others injured. The attack reportedly happened at the Puutori-Market Square area. Finish police also raised the security at Helsinki Airport as well as other transport hubs as a result of the attack
Turku police opened fired on the suspect, shooting him in the leg and then arresting him. Police are currently searching for additional suspects, as well as telling civilians to avoid the Turku city center.
Police have confirmed “several people have been knifed” in the centre of Turku this afternoon – including ‘a woman and a baby’. The police are urging people to avoid the centre of town – and a body has reportedly been spotted covered up.
According to information police have opened fire – and witnesses report seeing a pool of blood. Early reports say one assailant was shot in the leg – and this person was arrested.
