There is an active shooter situation in Newark, Ohio near North 21st Street. Early reports indicate that one person is dead and another has been injured.
According to the Licking County Sheriff’s Office, they are assisting Newark Police after an active shooter was reported on North 21st Street and Log Pond Drive, near the Bob Evans restaurant. There is also a car crash at the scene.
One person has reportedly been killed. Witnesses say that one person was shot at the intersection, and there were several accidents. Police have not released any information about possible victims.
The original call came in around 10:45 AM local time. So far, there is no description of the suspect or whether the incident is terror related. Police are treating the scene as an active shooter situation. A witness said that one suspect fleed on foot, while another fled in a vehicle.
Authorities are still investigating and have not released any information on the victims or the suspect.

One man was killed, another person was taken to the hospital with injuries. Newark Police say it appears to be some kind of domestic violence situation, and the people involved know each other, but they haven’t established a relationship yet.
The shooting happened near the intersection of North 21st Street and Log Pond Road. That is an intersection with several businesses, just south of Deo Drive.
Chuck Vagt told ABC 6/FOX 28 he was at the red light when he suddenly saw two vehicles start going in reverse at the intersection, and one car pushed the second into another car. He said a man then got out of the car and opened fire on the other vehicle. Vagt says a woman jumped out of the car and took off running.
Vagt says by the time he and others got to the intersection, the man was down on the ground with a gunshot wound. He says a Columbus firefighter was on the scene and was attempting to do CPR on the man.
