Three people–two males and one female–have been arrested in connection with the murder of Jennifer Raven Nevin, a young mother who was found dead on the side of a road on Monday, July 17.
Nevin, 23, was found dead around noon on Monday, July 17, in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. Investigators were able to quickly arrest and charge the three suspects.
Koran Rashad Lewis, 23, Vida Milagros Confetti Duena, 20, and Kendrick Ky’Andre Marshall, 16, who can be charged as an adult under Alabama law, have all been charged with murder.
Authorities have not yet disclosed a motive in the slaying, nor said how Nevin was killed. All three suspects are undergoing the booking process at the Tuscaloosa County Jail. Bond for Lewis and Marshall is set at $150,000 and Confetti is held on $100,000 bond.
Nevin’s body was discovered midday Monday by a worker checking a gas well off of Watermelon Road and Phelps Road. The discovery was made about 25 yards down a dirt road.
Her brother, will Nevin, said his sister suffered from mental illness and substance abuse. She started showing signs of emotional issues in her preteens and substance abuse followed as she self-medicated. She had her own home near Shelton State Community College and ran her own residential cleaning service. She was not legally married, but she and her boyfriend considered themselves husband and wife.
Police said a natural gas worker checking on a well head found Nevin off the side of the road at Watermelon Road and Phelps Road.
Lewis and Marshall are being held pending $150,000 bail, and Confetti’s bail has been set at $100,00.
