Inexpensive mass-produced sunglasses were sold on the boardwalk of Atlantic City, New Jersey, capitalizing off of the beach-going consumer. Sam Foster invented these sun-guarding glasses made from celluloid. Foster Grant is the name of his eye-wear company.
