Moles, 43, of Edinboro, Pennsylvania, was arrested in his hotel room around 2:00 A.M. Wednesday morning, Fox DC reported.
Police are said to have found a Glock 23 pistol, a Carbon Bushmaster assault rifle and 90 rounds of ammunition inside Moles’ car, which was parked outside the hotel on Pennsylvania Avenue in Northwest Washington. One of the weapons was visible inside the car while the other was found in the glove compartment.

Here’s an excerpt from the police report:
“On the listed date…members of the First District received information that S-1 would have possession of the listed firearms,” the report says. “While on scene officers observed the listed firearm in plain view in S-1’s vehicle with a secondary firearm located S-1’s glove box. S-1 was placed under arrest and charged with Carrying a Pistol without a License CPWL and transported to the First District for processing.”
Moles was arrested and charged with carrying a weapon without a license. It is unknown at this time if Moles was planning any sort of violent act, though police did say that Moles made threatening remarks. Investigators have yet to disclose what those threats were and who they were directed at.
According to ABC7, “Moles reportedly told police he is a military veteran and suffers from PTSD and that he stayed at the hotel because he likes President Trump. It’s unclear if he posed any threat.”
Though the nature of Moles’ alleged threats remain unclear, the Trump Hotel released a statement claiming that he was acting suspiciously.
“We take the safety and security of guests very seriously. It is our first priority,” the statement read. “This morning, the authorities arrested a guest who was behaving suspiciously. The matter is under investigation therefore it would be inappropriate for us to provide additional details. Please refer your inquiry to the investigating authorities.”
No injuries were reported.
