Duke University is doing their usual restocking of the cupboard, and the latest blue chip talent to join the Blue Devils is five-star recruit Trevon Duval. The 6’3″ point guard played last season at IMG Academy in Bradenton, Florida, and he announced his commitment to Duke today in a Players Tribune video.
Duval was one of the most sought-after recruits in the entire country, as Rivals listed him as the #2 point guard and the #7 overall player in the 2017 class. The ESPN 300 also had him at #5 overall, and with these well-respected scouting services placing him in such high regard, it was no surprise that Duval had a ton of elite basketball programs offering him scholarships. Duval passed up offers from Arizona, Baylor, Kansas, and Seton Hall to develop his tripping skills under the tutelage of Grayson Allen.
All jokes aside, Duval appears to be more than worthy of the hype. Here are some highlight tapes of the McDonald’s All-American in action.
