A suspect barricaded in a Haslet house Tuesday morning that prompted a lockdown on the entire neighborhood of Brentwood Estates and the Haslet Elementary School, the fire department said. Deputies and officers responded to the 100 Brentwood Lane, near Haslet County Line Road and Blue Mound Road, about 6:30 a.m., Fort Worth police spokesman Brad Perez said.

What Happened?

A suspect has barricaded themselves in a Haslet, Texas, home Tuesday morning. As a precaution, police instituted a lockdown on the entire neighborhood of Brentwood Estates and the nearby Haslet Elementary School.

Fort Worth police are assisting the Tarrant County Sheriff’s office since they don’t have a special response team.

Perez did not release additional information about the incident and the sheriff’s office has not yet responded to request for details.

Authorities have told neighborhood residents to remain in their homes. Classes at Haslet are proceeding as normal despite the lockdown. Any students who were tardy at Haslet Elementary have been allowed in the school, but it’s closed to non-students, the district said.

Haslet is located 15 miles north of Fort Worth, Texas.
