The two-seed San Antonio Spurs bounced back from dropping Games 3 and 4 to take a 3-2 series lead over the seven-seed Memphis Grizzlies. The trend of the home team winning every game continued in Game 5, as the Spurs were able to pick up a 116-103 victory in a surprisingly high-scoring affair.
As per usual, Kawhi Leonard was the man for the Spurs. In Game 5, the two-time All-Star lead all scorers with 28 points on 9-of-16 shooting from the floor while grabbing a rebound and dishing out six assists. Through the first five games of the series, Leonard is averaging 31.6 points, 5.4 rebounds, 3.8 assists, and 1.8 steals per game. He’s also shooting a blistering 57.6% from the floor, 54.2% from three-point distance, and 97.9% from the free throw line.
For the Grizzlies, Mike Conley was making plays early and often. The point guard scored 26 points, hitting 10-of-17 from the floor, 2-of-4 from three-point range, and 4-of-5 from the free throw line. To round out his big night, Conley chipped in two rebounds, six assists, four steals, and a block.
