After an Amber Alert that lasted over a month, Tad Cummins has been arrested and Elizabeth Thomas has been safely recovered in California.
Siskiyou County Sheriff’s Offices spokeswoman Kelly Giordano said Cummins’ vehicle was found Wednesday night. While she would not reveal where exactly the car was found, she did say “We are currently working an active incident regarding the kidnapping.”
The owner of the property where they were found said his caretaker called him at about 9:30 P.M. and said the man, Cummins, came to a nearby bar he owned and asked for work.

The vehicle used by Cummins was found in northern California late Wednesday night, according to Siskiyou County Sheriff’s Office spokeswoman Kelly Giordano. The spokeswoman also said the license plate had been removed from the car, which was confirmed to belong to Cummins through the VIN number.

A spokesperson for the Maury County Public Schools said Cummins was suspended from teaching last month and was fired on Tuesday, March 14.
