A telephoned bomb threat prompted the early closure of the Getty Museum in Brentwood, Los Angeles on Tuesday afternoon.
What Happened?
A “threatening phone call” was received around 2:50 P.M. PCT at the museum at 1200 Getty Center Dr., in the Sepulveda Pass area.
“We are working closely with the LAPD, which in an abundance of caution has asked us to close the Getty Center early and begin moving visitors from the site,” according to a museum statement. “Once visitors have departed, we will ask staff to leave in an orderly manner.”

Officers were immediately dispatched to investigate and the LAPD’s bomb squad was also on the scene.
