What time does the 2017 Boston Marathon start? Viewers can catch the first wave of marathoners kick off the 121st running of the race at 8:50 a.m. — with the elite running starting shortly after at 9:30 a.m.
If you’ve got Patriots’ Day set aside to watch the race (or of you’re trying to follow along at your desk because Mondays are the worst) we’ve got all the TV channel, live stream and race schedule info you need for race day.

How To Live Stream Boston Marathon 2017 Online

CBS Boston – A live stream coverage from WBZ channel 4 in Boston will start around 9 a.m.
(NOTE: Some computers will not be able to stream the main race. Those outside of New England, or those whose work computers have internet connections outside of New England, may not be able to watch the stream from 9 a.m. until noon.)
You can also watch The Boston Marathon online via CBS All Access. You will need a log-in and password information, and you can watch for free for the first week.
If you don’t have access to a cable or satellite log-in, you can live stream the premiere online through DIRECTV NOW. DIRECTV offers a free seven-day trial, so you’ll receive a full seven days free before your paid membership begins. If you cancel your subscription within the week, you will not be charged. DIRECTV NOW is available on Desktop, Apple TV, Amazon Fire TV and Chromecast.
If you would like to live stream The Boston marathon on your phone, tablet, or mobile device, you can do so by downloading the CBS All Access app. The CBS app is available on the App Store, Google Play store, and Windows Store. All you need to do is download the app and log in with your cable provider information.

NBC Live Extra – Those with a cable subscription will be able to use their info to access the national stream for the race.
