The 121st running of the Boston Marathon is underway. The 26.2-mile race will be completed by some of the world’s best long-distance runners in just north of two hours. Considering I run a 10:30 mile and struggle to get off the couch to reach the TV remote, I find this amazingly impressive.
The course begins on Main Street in Hopkinton and will finish near the John Hancock Tower in Copley Square on Boylston Street in Boston. The marathon will go through eight different towns and cities. In the city of Boston, it will end up on Beacon Street, Commonwealth Avenue, Hereford Street, and finally, Boylston Street.

How much does it cost to run the Boston Marathon?
Even though the race started off free, it now costs you money to put your body through the wringer. And only those who are the fastest among the pool of applicants in their age and gender group will get the chance to be tortured. The registration fee for the 2017 Boston Marathon for qualifiers is $180.00 USD for United States residents and $240.00 USD for international residents.
Such a bargain!
