Michelle Valvo, a Florida art teacher, was arrested after admitting to having multiple drug and alcohol-fueled meet-ups with one of her male high school students.
According to police, Valvo, 34, hosted the 17-year-old boy six times at her Spring Hill, Florida home, where she and the boy had “consensual” sex sessions.
The Hernando County Sheriff’s Office began investigating Valvo after getting an anonymous tip that a high school teacher was having sex with a student. Authorities received a similar story from the boy, saying that he willingly consented to sexual intercourse with the teacher. However, officials said that consent does not matter in this case due to the fact that the boy is still under 18 and therefore cannot legally consent.

The sheriff’s office began investigating after receiving a tip that a high school teacher was having sex with a student. HCSO detectives responded to the school to interview the male student. During the interview, the student told detectives that he had sex with the teacher at her home in Spring Hill on at least three occasions.
Valvo, who willingly agreed to be interviewed by the detectives, admitted to having sexual relations with the student five to six times.
“She did admit that she was having a sexual relationship with the student. The student is 17 years old. He’s not old enough to consent to a relationship like that,” said Denise Moloney, with the Hernando County Sheriff’s Office.
Both Valvo and the student also admitted to using marijuana and alcohol during the sessions.
Valvo was arrested at the Hernando County Sheriff’s Office and charged with three counts of unlawful sexual activity with a minor and contributing to the delinquency of a minor.
Valvo, who taught in the school district for three years, was suspended with pay pending the outcome of the investigation. Her bond was set at $15,500.
