Abu Izzadeen, born Trevor Brooks, was mistakenly identified as the alleged attacker in Wednesday’s terrorist incident near Parliament. Izzadeen reportedly injured at least 20 people, including policemen, and killed four when he drove his car into a crowd and then began attacking people with a machete.
Update (March 22, 5:11 PM):
After multiple media outlets identified Abu Izzadeen as the man behind the attack in London on Wednesday, it turns out that the alleged terror suspect is currently in jail, according to both a BBC News reporter.

Immediately before the incident around 2:45 PM London time, a crowd of was seen running from the direction of Westminster Bridge and around the corner into Parliament Square. It is now believed that Izzadeen drove his car into a crowd before getting out of the vehicle and attacking people with a machete. It is being reported that the suspect stabbed at least one police officer during his attack.
The two incidents took place outside of Parliament at the Palace of Westminster and on the Westminster bridge. Scotland Yard classified the latter event as a firearms incident. At least 20 people were injured and two were shot, including the assailant. Four people have died as a result of their injuries.

Abu Izzadeen, born Trevor Brooks, was a British spokesman for Al Ghurabaa, a British Muslim organization banned under the Terrorism Act 2006 for the glorification of terrorism. In April 2008, Izzadeen was convicted on charges of terrorist fund-raising and inciting terrorism oversees. He served three and a half years.
Izzadeen was known as a “hate preacher” and an Al Qaeda disciple who glorified suicide bombers and once heckled Home Secretary John Reid. In 2004, he told a group of Mosque goers: “So we are terrorists – terrify the enemies of Allah. The Americans and British only understand one language. It’s the language of blood.”
Izzadeen was arrested four separate times before the Westminster terror attack. He was 41-years-old.
