Lambda Chi Alpha History
Lambda Chi Alpha was founded by Warren A. Cole, Percival C. Morse, and Clyde K. Nichols at Boston University in Boston, Massachusetts on November 2, 1909. The fraternity grew rapidly, as within one year there were chapters established at the Massachusetts Agricultural College (University of Massachusetts-Amherst), the University of Pennsylvania, and Pennsylvania State University. In 1927, a chapter was formed at the University of Toronto, officially making Lambda Chi Alpha an international fraternity.
As for their current philanthropic efforts, Lambda Chi Alpha is best known for their work with food banks. They’ve raised millions of pounds of food for the North American Food Drive and Feeding America associations.
Lambda Chi Alpha Party Videos
Here’s an awesome video of Cal Poly’s Lambda Chi Alpha chapter’s 2015 Watermelon Bust. The event not only looked like one helluva time, but it also raised $4,000 & 2,300 cans for the Food Bank Coalition of San Luis Obispo. That’s the definition of a win-win scenario.
And here are some more Watermelon Bust videos for the road. These are 2016 editions from Arkansas and Arizona State’s Lambda Chi Alpha chapters.
