TCU Shocks Kansas, Beats Jayhawks 85-82 In Big 12 Tournament

There was a huge upset in the college basketball landscape today, as the TCU Horned Frogs shocked the world by beating the Kansas Jayhawks 85-82 in the quarterfinals of the Big 12 Tournament. With the score tied at 82-82 with 2.5 seconds left, TCU’s Desmond Bane was fouled shooting a three-pointer. He calmly drilled all three free throws to put TCU up 85-82, and Kansas’ Devonte’ Graham’s couldn’t get a deep three-pointer to fall at the buzzer.

Kansas was ranked as the #1 team in the entire country, while TCU will most likely need to win the Big 12 Tournament just to get into the NCAA Tournament. Kansas rolled through the Big 12 during the regular season, going 16-2 in conference play and winning their mind-blowing 13th straight conference title.

Kansas earned the #1 seed and a first round bye in the Big 12 Tournament, while TCU was given the #8 seed and a first round date with #9 Oklahoma. The Horned Frogs cruised to an 82-63 win over the Sooners, but it turns out that they were just getting warmed up.
These crazy stats really put this upset into perspective.
