On Tuesday, March 7, WikiLeaks published thousands of what it claim are official documents from the CIA’s Center For Cyber Intelligence. They are calling the release the “entire hacking capability” of the CIA.
While the information dump could not be immediately verified by The Associated Press, experts who’ve started to look over the dump say it appears to be legitimate. These experts are also saying a dump of this magnitude will certainly rock the CIA.

“There’s no question that there’s a fire drill going on right now,” said Jake Williams, a security expert with Augusta, Georgia-based Rendition Infosec. “It wouldn’t surprise me that there are people changing careers — and ending careers — as we speak.”
Jonathan Liu, a spokesman for the CIA, said: “We do not comment on the authenticity or content of purported intelligence documents.”
WikiLeaks has been hinting at a new information release for the past month. Wikileaks said in a statement that the CIA has “recently lost control” of its “massive arsenal of hacking tools.”
The information NPO additionally said that “the archive appears to have been circulated among former U.S. government hackers and contractors in an unauthorized manner” and that one of them “provided WikiLeaks with portions of the archive.”
The 8,761 documents and files, released as “Vault 7 Part 1”, were obtained from an “isolated, high-security network” at the CIA’s Center for Cyber Intelligence in Langley, Virginia, a press release from the website said.
