Why? Let’s run through the checklist.
- Copious drinking? Yes.
- Women flashing large crowds? You betcha.
- Crazy parades? Line on up.
And that’s it. What other ingredients do you need for an epic holiday? Nothing. Mardi Gras is all about dropping your guard and squeezing as much socially unacceptable behavior into one day as humanly possible so you can function as a normal member of society the other 364 days of the year. Some fancy French dudes started the tradition in America in the 1700’s, so you know it’s legit.
