Two USF Basketball Players Were Accidentally Left At Airport & Somebody’s Mom Was NOT Happy

The South Florida Bulls’ season just keeps getting worse. They are 7-20 on the year, and after their 82-68 loss at Tulsa on Thursday, they have dropped three straight and 15 of their last 16 games. It’s what happened when the Bulls flew home from Tulsa that has the internet talking, though. Via Deadspin, here’s how two USF players missed their flight back home.

Guards Troy Holston and Geno Thorpe fell asleep while waiting for the team’s connecting flight in Houston. Though they woke up while the plane was still at the gate, they were told that it was too late to board the commercial flight. As no one had yet noticed that two of the team’s 13 players were missing, the plane took off without them, and the school found Holston and Thorpe tickets home on a flight that afternoon.

Thorpe is the team’s leading scorer and Holston is third, so it’s pretty amazing that no one realized they weren’t on board. If you only have 13 guys on the team, it’s mind-blowing to me that you could leave without two of your best players.

Holston and Thorpe got back to campus and interim coach Murry Bartow apologized, so you would think that everything would be cool. All’s well that ends well, right? That couldn’t be further from the truth, as Holston’s mom, Monique Holston-Greene, was absolutely pissed and went on a fantastic Twitter rant.

Bballmama95 does not play around. Don’t those fools know that her son is precious cargo???
