Rick and Morty, one of the best comedies currently on television, has been off the air since its second season came to an end in 2015. While a third season has been in the works, creators Justin Roiland and Dan Harmon have yet to let fans know when exactly it will be released, and have been teasing them every step of the way.
So, it only makes sense that when Adult Swim drops an “exclusive” look at the opening scene of the third season, it’s not exactly what it seems.

After having been missing for nearly 20 years, Rick Sanchez suddenly arrives at daughter Beth’s doorstep to move in with her and her family. Although Beth welcomes Rick into her home, her husband, Jerry, isn’t as happy about the family reunion. Jerry is concerned about Rick, a sociopathic scientist, using the garage as his personal laboratory. In the lab, Rick works on a number of sci-fi gadgets, some of which could be considered dangerous. But that’s not all Rick does that concerns Jerry. He also goes on adventures across the universe that often involve his grandchildren, Morty and Summer. Roiland voices the series’ eponymous characters, with the voice talent of Chris Parnell, Spencer Grammer, and Sarah Chalke providing the rest of the family.
