We get fights of the criminal vs. criminal or criminal vs. cop variety all of the time, but today, a video is going viral featuring a rare cop vs. cop showdown. Last week at the Hardin County Detention Center in Elizabethtown, Kentucky, deputy jailer Joe Fung and deputy sheriff Clennon Smith got into an intense fight.

Goddamn, Smith came in hot with the ol’ double hands to the throat choke hold. He clearly wasn’t messing around, which makes me think that these two had a history. There’s no way you go 0-100 like that to a colleague unless they’ve been getting under your skin for a long period of time. That was a ticking time bomb situation if I’ve ever seen one.
According to NBC4 Columbus, not only did Fung lose the fight, but he is also facing serious consequences.
Funk was arrested after the dispute with Deputy Sheriff Clennon Smith. Now Funk is facing charges of menacing, resisting arrest, and assault.
He is due in court later this week. Deputy Sheriff Smith is still on the job.
Let’s just hope that the inmates at Hardin County Detention Center don’t take this as a sign of dysfunction and weakness. That’s how elbow drops start happening.
