Woman Is Suing AIG Because The Men Would 'Lick Her' And 'Hide Under Her Desk'

Marlee Valenti, a former AIG underwriter, is suing the insurance king, as well as her ex-boss, claiming he perpetuated a “boys club” atmosphere.  Valenti claims that male employees would hide under female employees’ desks to peek up their skirts and would also lick female colleagues. Good thing we bailed out AIG, right?
Valenti, 34, who had been an award-winning employee for two years before she was transferred to work under now-VP Michael Donnelly, according to her suit, filed suit Monday in the Manhattan Supreme Court.
Valenti’s suit claims she became subject to a “never-ending stream” of harassment from 10 men under Donnelly’s supervision.
Via NY Post:

For example, court papers say, “on multiple occasions, male employees would sneak under the desks of female employees in order to look up their skirts. Valenti witnessed multiple instances of this occurring and heard about several more from female colleagues in her division.”
Valenti and other women were also “groped, licked or forced to endure other forms of harassment” from male colleagues, she says. Valenti was fired after she complained, the suit says.
Court papers say Valenti “believed it was pointless to report such conduct” because her direct supervisor, Michael Donnelly, “was a willing participant in such behavior as were other supervisors in the Corporate Accounts Division.”
In December 2013, when she learned that her colleagues were “speaking negatively” about her to others in the industry, the papers say, Valenti submitted a 150-page response “complete with evidence” about the harassment. A month later, she was fired after AIG brass did “a perfunctory investigation” and found no wrongdoing, she claims.

However, AIG is claiming ignorance. In a statement released Monday, the company said it “is committed to providing a workplace that is free from sexual harassment. However, we believe this suit and the claims it makes are without merit, and we will defend the matter vigorously.”
Someone needs to tell AIG that The Wolf Of Wall Street was just a movie.
