There Was Yet Another Active Shooter Situation This Morning, This Time In Houson

There is an active shooter situation at a strip mall in Houston. According to reports, at least six people have been wounded, although the extent of the injuries in unclear. The incident occurred near the corner of Wesleyan St. and Bissonnet St., officials said. The shooter has been shot and killed by police, and police are not seeking any other suspects at this time.

“Houston police were responding to an ‘active shooter situation’ at a shopping center Monday morning, according to officials.
More than 15 EMS crews were dispatched about 6:30 A.M. (7:30 A.M. ET) to a Petco store in a strip mall in the southwest of the city, Houston Fire Department spokesman Jay Evans told NBC News.
The site of the shooting was likely ‘contained,’ according to a statement from the Houston Office of Emergency Management released at about 7:15 A.M. local time.”

While officials said the shooter had been ‘neutralized,’ they did not elaborate on his injuries. Houston Fire Department says six people were taken to area hospitals after they were injured by the reported shooter.
The HFD’s Jay Evans said:

“We received a call at 6:29 that we had a shooting at the Petco store…the first units were directed to the parking lot where the shooting was still active. We now have approximately 20 EMS personnel vehicles on scene. We do not know, we do not have a count at this time as to how many people have been shot, but all of the people will be directed to local hospitals in the area that are going to be victims.”
