The 2016 Premier League Season kicked off a month ago, playing three games and then taking last week off for an international break. After the first three game, Manchester United and Manchester City (along with Chelsea) are undefeated, tied atop the standing with 9 points. The winner of the year’s first Manchester Derby will remain in first place, while the loser will drop to second.
Manchester United, under new manager José Mourinho, opened the 2016 EPL season with a convincing 3-1 win over Bournemouth. Then, in the second game, they defeated a solid Southampton, 2-0. In their third game on August 27th, they defeated Hull City with a stoppage-time goal, winning 1-0.
As for Manchester City, they have also started the year strong under new manager Pep Guardiola. They opened their Premier League season with a 2-1 win over a scrappy Sunderland squad. In week two, they demolished Stoke City 4-1. In their third game, they convincingly defeated West Ham United, 3-1.
