According to Miami-Dade Schools officials, Miami Beach Senior High School has been placed on lockdown after the school received a threatening call. The Miami Beach Police Department is on the scene and are advising people to avoid the area. Miami Schools Police Department is the lead agency of during the situation.
According to the Miami Herald:
A caller told the school there was someone at school threatening to harm himself and others, said Miami Dade Schools spokeswoman Daisy Gonzalez-Diego. So far, police haven’t found anything, but the school was shut down as a precaution.
“It appears to be a prank call,” Gonzalez-Diego said.
