The Premier League 2016-2017 season’s second week is underway. Chelsea, who played on Monday night, defeating West Ham United at home, 2-1. Watford tied Southampton 1-1 in their opening match.
The 2016–17 Premier League is the 25th season of the Premier League, the top English professional league for association football clubs, since its establishment in 1992. The season began August 13, 2016, and will last until May 21, 2017. Leicester City are the defending champions, with Burnley, Middlesbrough and Hull City being promoted from the Football League Championship. Rounding out the top four from last season, are Arsenal, Tottenham Hotspur, and Manchester City.
