Jessica Alba just got us all excited over Mechanic: Resurrection — which was previously known as the late-summer release that was going to derail any career momentum Jason Statham had going from his turn in Furious 7.
We weren’t really clamoring for a sequel to Statham’s middling 2011 remake of a Charles Bronson film, but now the studio’s released some promotional shots that are downright thrilling.
You won’t see any of Statham in these pics. Instead, the producers are wisely pushing Jessica’s role as the great love of assassin Arthur Bishop’s life. As you can see, she’s a real damsel in distress who has to be saved by the guy who was thinking he’d put his murderous past behind him.
Jessica hasn’t put her sex-symbol past behind her at 35, though. Don’t forget she’s filthy rich from The Honest Company, either. Take a look for yourself, and suddenly come down with a case of sequelitis…
