A Kansas City Police Officer, who we now know as Captain Dave Melton, has been shot and killed today. At first it was believed that the officer who was in critical condition might survive, but we just learned that’s no longer the case. Our thoughts and prayers are with this officer, their family, and the rest of the men and women who protect our streets.
What Happened?
Shortly before 2 PM today, a police officer attempted to stop a person they believed had been involved in an armed disturbance earlier in the day. Multiple shots were fired at the officer and they were hit. Police were advised over the radio that an officer was down at 1:58 PM.
