Did you know the entire month of July is Ice Cream Month?!!
In 1984, President Ronald Reagan designated July as National Ice Cream Month and the third Sunday of the month as National Ice Cream Day. Dear Ronald recognized ice cream as a fun and nutritious food that is enjoyed by a whopping 90% of the American population.
This year, National Ice Cream Day falls on Sunday, July 17, 2016.
Maybe Ronald just needs another excuse to indulge. Regardless of his motives for nationalizing ice cream as a holiday, I plan to celebrate by drinking some ice cream beer.
Yes, you heard that right, ICE CREAM BEER!
Last October, fellas over at Ben & Jerry teamed up with Belgium (mmmmm, Hoegaarden), to make ice cream beer. What kind of crazy nonsense is that? I mean, later I fully intend to go find some, and it’s probably delicious, but honestly – ice cream beer?
After a few trials and errors, Ben and Belgium came up with Salted Caramel Brownie Brown Ale, which sounds like dessert in a pint glass. This year, they are topping it with Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Ale. Oh my god…
As I reach for my third tub of Cherry Garcia, let me get a hold of myself…by reading some memes.
