So let’s cut right to it: there is this rapper named Rich Chigga, who is a 16-year old, homeschooled comedian-turned-rapper, born and raised in Jakarta, Indonesia. About a week or so ago, Rich Chigga (I chuckle every time I type that name) went viral from the video for his song “Dat $tick”. At first listen, the track sounds like a regular trap record, but when paired with the, um, visuals of the music video, it becomes hilarious. The dude is wearing a pink polo, khaki shorts, and a f*ckin’ Reebok fanny pack and looks like an absolute Dad. In the background, his friends are doing almost everything that you’d see in a stereotypical trap music video– “Trap Lord” stances, liquor pouring, pistol waving, and a sh*t ton of dabbing. Lots of dabs.
Honestly, it’s phenomenal. It’s so good that rappers of all kinds are digging it, from OG’s like Ghostface Killah, to young guns like Desiigner. Ghostface even liked it so much he said he wanted to hop on the remix.
I can’t really describe why I find this so funny, but I just do. I was literally sitting at my desk laughing out loud like an asshole for a solid 5 minutes. ESPECIALLY because of Tory Lanez genuinely shocked reaction, which is pure gold: “This is the hardest n**ga of all time.”
