Amanda had spent Friday and Saturday shopping with her nieces, Bella, 12, and Zatanna, 8, spoiling them with clothes.
According to her brother, Brian:

“She was a fashionista. She liked to look good and she wanted my girls – her girls – to look good,” he said. “She liked to make them look very good.”

Amanda was a graduate of Ridge Community High School in Davenport and worked as a pharmacy technician. She planned to be a nurse. Her brother said that Amanda would regularly attend gay and lesbian clubs because she felt safe to be herself there. Amanda’s brother Brian continues to say that Amanda would not want anyone to spread hate or vengeance for her:

“She wouldn’t want anyone to spread hate for her,” her brother said. “She’d rather they spread more love, keep friends and family close, and have a good time doing it.”

Amanda sounded like she had a beautiful soul. Rest in peace.
