Based on the comic book series, The Walking Dead follows survivors of an apocalyptic holocaust who are being followed and menaced by zombies. Over the 16 episodes of Season 6, TWD focused on Rick and his group leading others through a series of crises, as they discover more survivor communities and make allies with the Hilltop colony and Savior adversaries.

‘The Walking Dead’ Season 7 Plot

After what fans saw in the Season 6 finale, it’s safe to assume that a fan favorite character will definitely die, as is typical with TWD in its post-apocalyptic world. Beyond that, many are wondering about the what’s happening between Carl and Negan, but luckily the writers of TWD have assured viewers that Season 7 will begin right where Season 6 left off, and the death everyone is wondering about will be the first thing revealed.

We will pick up directly from what we saw last night. Season 6 ended on that note, and Season 7’s going to pick up right where we left off. We’re going to see who’s on the other end of that bat and go from there.

Here is what Gimple said about the story of The Walking Dead Season 7:

The world opened up this half season, it opened up to some light places and some dark places. In the next half season, the world is going to open up even more. We’re going to have a wide variety of locales, tone and character. I’m very excited for all the different stories that are going to be told.
I haven’t done the math but I think there’s going to be the biggest variety of stories we’ve had yet. I can say without spoiling anything that things are going to start of very, very, very dark. But that won’t be the whole season. It’s not going to be darkness upon darkness upon darkness.
