Although San Juan is actually a pretty nice place to visit year-round, Spring Break is one of the more popular times to go and party because of the 18-year-old drinking age and plentiful rum.
During the day there are no shortage of beaches to lay out at and at night you can hit up plenty of the bars and clubs. San Juan’s existence as the 51st state also means that things are relatively safe outside of the resorts and hotels, but sketchy enough that trouble can be found if you’re looking for it.
