It hasn’t been the greatest season for the Washington Redskins record-wise being just 9-7 but that was enough to win the NFC East which allows the Redskins to host a playoff game on Sunday afternoon as the 10-6 Green Bay Packers come to FedEx Field. These are two teams that appear to be going in two very different directions right now with Green Bay’s struggles and Washington’s winning ways.
Washington has won four straight games since falling to 5-7 with a loss to the Cowboys on December 7. Kirk Cousins has come into his own this season, throwing for 4,166 yards, 29 touchdowns and 11 interceptions and loves throwing the pigskin towards Jordan Reed. Reed has 87 catches for 952 yards and 11 touchdowns. Alfred Morris may not be having the success he would like this season but still has 751 yards rushing on the ground. The Redskins are going to get a very angry Green Bay team but Washington is prepared to show the pro football world that they are legit this season even if they would have been on the road if the playoffs were re-seeded by overall record.
Green Bay has lost their last two games including a chance to win the NFC North and have a home game this week with a 20-13 loss to the Vikings at Lambeau Field last week. Aaron Rodgers has 3,821 passing yards, 31 touchdowns and eight interceptions for the year and has been looking the direction of James Jones quite a bit. Jones has 50 catches for 890 yards and eight touchdowns. Eddie Lacy is back leading the running game and has 758 rushing yards and three touchdowns. Can the Packers play better than they have the last two weeks to get a road playoff win? That is one of the biggest questions going into this NFC Wild Card game.
