Heart of Dallas Bowl: What Time, TV Channel & Preview

There are some fans that see a matchup between a Conference USA school and one from the Pac-12 and just assume the biggest conference team is better. The Heart of Dallas Bowl at the Cotton Bowl may prove a lot of those critics wrong as the 9-4 Southern Mississippi Golden Eagles face the 6-6 Washington Huskies. The question of how many fans fly from Washington to the Dallas area will be worth seeing and will the Huskies be able to get past a powerful Golden Eagles offense as well.
Washington had to win their final two games just to get to 6-6 for the season including a 45-10 win over Washington State to end the regular season. Jake Browning has passed for 2,671 yards, 16 touchdowns and ten interceptions on the year and has a big target in Jaydon Mickens with his 50 catches for 597 yards and two touchdowns. The key to the Huskies offense is Myles Gaskin though. Gaskin has 1,121 rushing yards and ten touchdowns. Washington has a great defense as well that gives up just 17.8 points a game which will be challenged by the Golden Eagles.

Southern Mississippi lost their final game of the regular season during a 45-28 defeat at Western Kentucky. Nick Mullens is the real deal though with 4,145 passing yards, 36 touchdowns and 12 interceptions this year and has had great success throwing to Michael Thomas. Thomas has 62 catches for 1,201 yards and 12 touchdowns. Jalen Richard has also been a monster to stop on offense with 1,098 rushing yards and 14 touchdowns on just 185 carries. The Golden Eagles average 40.6 points and 519.8 yards per game. It will come down to who wins that matchup of offense vs. defense to determine a winner for this game.
