Sun Bowl: What Time, TV Channel & Preview

There are some bowl games that have a ton of history and a long tradition of excellence. The Sun Bowl in El Paso would rank right up there with some of the most popular bowl games. This season’s version on December 26 features a matchup of 8-4 teams as the Miami Hurricanes take on the Washington State Cougars. There is turnover happening at Miami with Mark Richt taking over next season while Washington State has the fiery Mike Leach on the sidelines.
Miami won their final two games of the season to get to the eight-win mark and into this game. Brad Kaaya has thrown for 3,019 yards, 15 touchdowns and four interceptions this year and likes to find Stacy Coley in the pass game. Coley has 44 catches for 645 yards and three touchdowns. Joseph Yearby is approaching 1,000 yards on the ground with his 931 rushing yards and six touchdowns for the 2015 season. Richt will be watching very closely for a team that averaged 401.4 yards a game on offense but gave up 406.8 yards. It may take 50 points to win this game.

Washington State had a three-game winning streak snapped during a 45-10 loss to Washington to end their regular season. Luke Falk has passed for 4,266 yards, 36 touchdowns and eight interceptions while using Leach’s pass-first offense. Gabe Marks has 99 catches for 1,125 yards and 14 touchdowns in the pass game while Gerald Wicks has 599 rushing yards to lead the team. The Cougars average 476.9 yards a game on offense and nearly 400 of that comes via the pass but they also give up 422.8 yards a game. This is going to a high-scoring affair at the Sun Bowl to say the least.
